Waste Management is our Priority

Paro is known for main gateway for the tourism to enter Bhutan as international airport is located in this state. The tourist will have better impression for the country looking at the first state in Bhutan they visit. But it face the biggest issue of waste management as where ever we visit we come across the the waste. The drains are blocked the river banks and road sides are filled with waste .so seeing this it lead our team to take action and hold the cleaning campaign for three days
We divided the 3 days campaign in 5 different location around Paro namely Kyichu monastery, Dungtse lhakang, picnic spots, below the Paro dzong and taju to wochu area. We have clean all the drains which are connected directly or indirectly to the river and the place which are always neglected by the people but the waste are easily visible.we gather together and discuss various ways to make awareness in the state.
This project will benefit over 6000 householder in Paro, life below water and empowered the young youths. As we had friends and other volunteers to participate in last day. In other hand the visitor from outside will have good conception for the country Bhutan . The estimated waste we have collected over 3 days campaign is over 68 sacks which we have drop in the designated dumping area we have cleaned near the river which will benefit the life below water and life on earth as well.
This project have inspired us as a team and everyone who saw our hard work to be a better person to manage our own waste and be responsible for it .we believe that working as a team throughout the project have bonded our team spirit, cooperations and communication . This project has given me a hope for other projects which can be larger and better than this which will lead to the better Bhutan and better world.
