Waste Management Advocacy & Stream Adoption

Rovers of RTC started the progress of the project with the following motivation: 5 members from RTC attended the virtual SWA Training that inspired the team to take up the project. Additionally, the team was inspired due to the objectives we have for the project. Project Purpose: -To advocate for people on waste management. -Action-based advocacy (adopting a place). -Creating awareness programs through social media, schools, and institutions. -To encourage other people, Zero waste production
•This project was carried out in Ngabiphu, Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. •Population of about 1,47,000 residing in Thimphu City out of which our reach is about 2000 people. •For the duration of 1 and a half years, twice a month. The project was divided into two levels: The Discovery level and the Service level. It falls under the team form of the SWA Project where 35 participants dedicated their voluntary service to the local community.
Reach- 2000. Impact -The project was successful with lesser waste production. -The construction of the ‘Waste Collection Facility at Ngabiphu was an achievement for rovers’ through support from Thimphu Thromde. -One of our objectives was a collaboration with other stakeholders. ‘Greener Way’ and ‘Thimphu City Corporation’ were our biggest supporters. -The purpose was to bring behavioral change at the grass-root level. -Involvement of community people concerned about waste management.

The team will work on it.
