Washington Primary reading brings hope

The Scouting-in-Schools team at Washington Primary aimed to make literacy fun, educational, and engaging for learners. Tersia Februarie noted that the campaign was designed to spark excitement for reading, encourage exploration, and provide Scouts and learners with a shared learning experience. The initiative motivated children to socialize, participate actively, and develop confidence while engaging with reading and creative exercises.
Learners engaged in reading and writing short stories, exploring word meanings, and using dictionaries. Yeboneers guided children through tasks that encouraged them to step out of their comfort zones and actively participate. Activities focused on building comprehension, confidence, and communication skills while making literacy enjoyable and interactive.
Tersia Februarie observed that the project brought joy to learners and helped them socialize, boosting their confidence. The campaign highlighted the importance of encouraging children to step beyond comfort zones and actively participate in learning. The experience reinforced that engaging, practical literacy activities can enhance skills while making reading a positive and exciting experience.
