Walk the World Year 2
As part of the SWA Voluntary Service, last March 2, 2017, the Roosevelt College Rodriguez Rover Scouts, together with the Senior Scouts, Rotary Club (RC) of Rodriguez's "Shoe My Love Project", and other selected clubs of the school, visited the Casili Elementary School - an educational institution located in one of the far-off places in the Municipality of Rodriguez.
Just like our Walk the World Messengers of Peace Initiative, the Shoe My Love Project aims to give school shoes to elementary students which they will use when going to school, and slippers, as well, which they can use during casual events.
The Rover Scouts and Senior Scouts helped in organizing of the footwears and in controlling the crowd while the selected clubs prepared the snacks and the school supplies which will be given to the beneficiaries. Moreover, selected students showcased their dancing expertise to prove that Casili's youth are talented individuals.
Furthermore, as a sign of their hospitality, the teachers and the parents of Casili Elementary School prepared a boodle fight to be shared by everybody.
It made the tiring four-hour back-and-forth-hike journey worthwhile especially when one see happiness in the priceless smiles of the children.
