Yangchen goenpa is a small monastery which is located two hours walk above the highway en route to Haa. The goenpa had sustained several earth quakes in the recent past years due to which it was in pretty bad shape. The renovation required man power, so the scouts of Wanakha Central School accompanied by scoutmasters and few staff were glad to lend helping hand to give shape to new goenpa. The volunteers worked very hard under the scorching sun but it did not stop the enthusiasm shared by the scouts as their law states, “Scouts are Cheerful under all circumstances” and staff to uphold the spiritual value and keep alive the age old tradition.
