Tree donations for the world environment day

The scouts of the Troop 2A of Royal college saved 120 plants of Kumbuk (Arjuna Myrobalan/Terminalia arjuna) from a tree near the Scout Room kept them for about 2 months in small bags ,until the plants were strong enough, and under the supervision of the Irrigation and Agriculture management Department, took them to 4 schools situated in remote areas and gifted them to those children to plant them in the watershed areas of river Mahaweli and to look after them for the next few years. The scouts also took various gifts such as pens, exercise books etc. as gifts to these children as most of them are from underprivileged families. The Scouts also took a few activity packs of global warming ,gifted by the UNESCO club of Royal college for those children.
