Treasure Hunt UNESCO World Heritage Site
As a leader, I’ve always been motivated by creative projects, teamwork and being able to draw a connection between activities and peace education. I take the challenge and organize the first ever United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Treasure Hunt to promote environmental understanding and protect the environment. Watching junior scouts improve makes me look forward to work
The program was held in Georgetown, Penang and the treasure hunt begin with a word game. Scouts were divided into small groups and some clues were given such as historical pictures and they to guess and find all the places. In each station, there was a 'Question And Answer' section about The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site. More points were given to each correct answer.
There are 60 participants in our project. The impact of our project is to educate our scouts in national culture, tradition and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site. Letting the scouts learn more about the importance of heritage provides sign to our past and get to know how our society has evolved. It helps us to examine our history and traditions that enables us to develop an awareness about ourselves.
We feel proud that the program ran smoothly and successful. Throughout this program, I learned that the importance of heritage as it gives people a sense of unity and belonging within a group and the history of where they come from. Although we took a lot of effort to prepare for this program, we pledge to explore more things and make it more fun in the future.
