From June 24 to 28, 2024, a transformative 5-day summer camp took place at Mt. Makiling in Los BaƱos, Laguna, uniting 60 Scouts from TTL-Manila. This camp focused on fostering camaraderie and strengthening the bonds among the participants, empowering them through personal growth and practical skill-building. Its goal was to equip the Scouts with the tools necessary to become active and responsible members of society.
The Summer Camp provided Scouts with lessons that went beyond traditional learning. Participants gained practical skills in teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving through hands-on activities such as first aid, knot tying, and survival cooking. This experience highlighted the importance of empowering young individuals, fostering their growth and confidence in meaningful ways, and developing a sense of resilience and camaraderie that will serve them well in their future endeavors as adults.
One Scout shared their perspective, reflecting on the significance of the camp: I developed a strong sense of belonging. Young people in our community will now have more opportunities to discover their abilities and grow into better individuals."
