Ticket to Life - Africa
The role of scouting's educational offer continues to prove pivotal in the wholistic development of the young people. In the Africa region, Ticket to Life project has given us the golden opportunity to research, plan, reach out to vulnerable segments of the community, and offer scouting to children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to enjoy our educational programme.
The regional office has continuosly offered support in terms of capacity building and resources to all implementing NSOs (Seven) in the region. In dec 2023, all the national coordinators of TTL in the regiona gathered in Nairobi for upskilling, planning, and sharing best practices.
The region has also supported in mapping out of strategic partners for NSOs for sustainability.
The need to continue reaching out to vulnerable groups is certainly greater than we had envisioned in the past, and the interest by the young people to join scouting is unmatched. As part of our capacity building to scout leaders, we need to be awake to the realities of the NSO, and support them to have inclusive youth programmes by design.
