Thembani PS is Building Skills Through Reading

The Yeboneers wanted to strengthen learners’ reading and writing skills and guide them toward becoming confident, independent readers. They hoped to spark interest in books and help learners engage meaningfully with literacy.
Learners practiced reading aloud, writing, and basic library navigation. The Yeboneers supported them in choosing books, understanding stories, and improving their reading flow while addressing challenges in attention and confidence.
The adventure highlighted the value of teaching learners how to use the library and select books independently. Yeboneers learned that consistent support helps build literacy skills and that simple guidance can make reading more enjoyable and accessible.
