TEAMWORK TO ACHIEVE THE SDGs
My motivation for this project was the observation of a major problem in our church which was the question of sanitation.
This project was implemented at the St FRANÇOIS XAVIER parish in Abobo. It brought together 13 scouts (leaders and young people) and 6 non-scouts. In view of its execution, we all first swept and emptied the gutters around the Church, after that, we split into two groups, one group to sweep and dry the church and the other group emptied the attic of the church which had in it old debris of construction.
This project had a considerable community impact because its implementation prevented parishioners from falling ill due to the unsanitary conditions of the Church. Even more, the completion of this project made it possible to clean our place of prayer.
This project taught me team spirit, inter-generational collaboration and leadership. In order to improve it, we could for example redo the painting of the premises, and even more, we could try to raise the church bell.
