Tag Rugby Competition

Tag Rugby Competition

THE Fiji Rugby Union is made a move to introduce tag rugby as an alternative option to contact rugby in primary schools. The than FRU chairman Radrodro Tabualevu said the initiative was to ensure that young kids found enjoyment in the sport other than learning the proper skills. He added the motive behind such an arrangement was to support their bid for inclusivity and thus having young girls as part of the competition. The motion to have tag rugby as part of primary schools competition as opposed to contact rugby was tabled at the union’s annual general meeting in May by Director of Kajirugby Skills Academy. Nadi Primary School took part in the sport after 3 complete weeks of training by Mr. Isikeli.
