"Symbolic Tree Plantation by Bhutan Scouts Association"

On International Peace Day celebration, numerous activities and events were conducted by Bhutan Scouts Association in line with the celebrations conducted elsewhere in the world. Bhutan Scouts were engaged in peace run, blood donation, tree plantation, cleaning campaigns and a lot of other activities. All the 20 districts vigorously celebrated and marked the day with much celebration. At the national level, The Education Minister, His Excellency planted the symbolic peace tree at the premises of the Bhutan Scouts Association Office on 21st September. But the mass tree plantation was conducted ionly from 22nd September to 23rd September. The r officials of BSA, Rovers, Scouts and Adult Leaders planted cypress, asparagus, juniper and rhododendron trees. 100 trees were planted on the day to mark the day of peace. 150 Scouts, CBS, Rovers were involved in digging holes for the tree plantation before the actual tree plantation. The ceremonial tree plantation was inaugurated by His Excellency, Education Minister who is the president of Bhutan Scouts Association. After the program, 150 participants went to plant 100 trees in different places in the capital city. The trees were adopted by the planters so that the trees are nurtured and healthily grown.
