Stronger Than Covid

Having 3 hot meals in a day and looking at someone who does not even have one decent meal made me realize the importance of giving back to the community. As a person whose income was not affected the the current pandemic, I felt that this was the opportune time to give back to the community. With this idea in mind, I approached my district council members and started the food pack initiative. We managed to collect enough packs to reach out to 70 families.
Our project was implemented in Lautoka, the second largest city in Fiji. This was executed with the assistance of fellow leaders and sponsors. We reached out to the struggling families and delivered food supplies and essentials.
The project brought smiles to families who were struggling to put food on the table.
There were many learning points from this project. We learnt that that while looking for donors and sponsors, we need to have a full proof plan and explanation on how their contributions would be utilized as at times some people may be hesitant to give because of their previous outcomes with other such initiatives.
