Strengthening Safe from Harm

We wanted every young person in ScoutsTT to experience Scouting in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment. Recognising the need for a more coordinated Safe from Harm team, we set out to bring together local expertise and strengthen support for our districts.
Following the regional workshop held from 16–19 July 2026, we applied the learning to strengthen ScoutsTT’s Safe from Harm team. We brought together people with expertise in psychology, behavioural science and social work, combining their knowledge with an understanding of Scouting to support addressing safeguarding challenges.

Through this work, we have strengthened the safeguarding arrangements intended to support approximately 4,000 Scouts and adult leaders across ScoutsTT. This is our estimated membership and potential indirect reach, rather than a count of people directly trained. Together, these developments strengthen our capacity to provide safe, supportive Scouting and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals through promoting well-being and protecting young people from harm.

We thank World Scout Foundation for their support on these activities.
