Spritual Camp

Spirituality is a broad concept to understand and implement, in general it includes a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves, and it typically involves a search for meaning in life. As such, it is a universal human experience—something that touches us all. Since scouts are bound and ruled by scout promise, law and motto, we believe that it is our responsibility to let our children get into those concepts spiritualism and religion. Spiritual camp was organized by Samdrup Jongkhar Thromde Education Office at Rikhey Goenpa and it was funded by BSA (Bhutan Scout Association) for the benefit of our young, enthusiastic and keen learners. Around 145 scouts from SJMSS (Samdrup Jongkhar Middle Secondary School), SJPSS (Samdrup Jongkhar Primary School) and DPS (Dewathang Primary School), scout leaders from all the schools under Samdrup Jongkar Thromde, students from Dungsam Academy and rover scouts from Jigme Namgyal Engineering College took part in the camp. It was a great opportunity for all the participants to learn and relearn some of the basic methods and importance of reciting everyday prayers and mindfulness practice. They have also learned and gained some social skills- respecting others and interacting skills which are very important in their every day life.
