SPECIAL SCHOOL EDUCATORS FOR ENVIRONMENT

Special education teachers work in more places than just schools. Regardless of their workplace, all special education teachers work with students to achieve their full potential. Environment paly a huge role when we talk about the development of a child with special needs or the institution itself. As a special education teacher, advocator on diversity and inclusion in scouting and a messenger of peace I took this role valuing our environment for everyone's growth.
The staff and scout leaders of Lautoka School for Special Education gathered to promote, take action and advocate on the importance of keeping our environment clean for better learning. The staff gathered to plant trees, clean the school playground and general cleanliness of classrooms.
This project will have a great impact on the parents and students with special needs. It will ensure that when students return to school, they will be welcomed with smile and a clean environment which is most needed.
Some of the things that we all learnt while planning and implementing this project was: a. Projects like this will ensure our young generation peace and greenery around them. b. Including our special education teachers in scouting will help leaders understand inclusion and diversity better.
