Despite what many people believe in this country, there are still many starving people. At this service project we spent about 8 hours assisting the soup kitchen volunteers to serve and feed those with income too low to survive on their own. I saw people I knew, and many people I didn't know, and it was a real eye opener about how common hunger really is.
