Sokumlandela PS: Understanding Through Exposure
The goal was to expose learners to more information than they usually access at school and reinforce understanding of what they are taught. By creating an environment where new concepts could be explored safely, the team aimed to help learners grow in confidence and broaden their general knowledge.
The learners were highly engaged and already understood some of the concepts being discussed. Their confidence showed clearly, especially considering they are not exposed to diverse information daily. Activities were short, focused, and interactive, helping reinforce understanding while keeping their attention across the two-day programme.
The team realised the importance of patience and building trust with learners. Encouraging participation helps learners feel comfortable, improves vocabulary, listening skills, and overall comprehension, showing the value of consistent exposure to information.
