SNANA YATRA SEVA
Snana Purnima, a significant ritual of Lord Jagannath observed at Puri and other major pilgrimage sites. This day marks a vital event in the Rath Yatra calendar and attracts thousands of devotees who gather for a glimpse (darshan) of the Lord during the celestial bath. To ensure the smooth conduct of this spiritual event and to assist the pilgrims, the Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides organised a Service Camp.
The camp was organised, involving enthusiastic participation of Rovers and Rangers from various districts. They have guided the devotees in queues and helped differently-abled persons to reach the bathing place. To offer relief from the heat, Rovers sprinkled water, distributed drinking water to the devotees, ensuring they remained hydrated. Provided stretcher service to unwell or fainting devotees, ensuring they were safely carried to medical points or resting areas.
The camp received appreciation from the public. It reinforced the motto of “Service to Others”, and provided a spiritually enriching and socially responsible experience for all participants. From this camp we learnt the importance of effective communication and coordination during large gatherings.
