The scouts and other volunteers has a great time purchasing and preparing the shoe boxes to be sent to Africa.  We contacted Linda Braaten, a missionary in Africa, that was originally from our community.  We explained how we wanted to send items to children that may need them in their community.  Linda informed us that there are many families that have left their homes because of war.  They are currently living in tents with little to no personal belongings in front of  church.  As soon as the scouts heard of this, they new that they could bring a smile to a childs face by sending the show boxes.
