Senior Scouts Mt Rajah Expedition

The Kuala Lumpur Senior Scouts Expedition was conducted at Mount Rajah, Pahang, Malaysia, from 8 - 10 September 2018. A total of 6 Senior Scouts participated in the expedition in order for them to complete their pre-requisite for their Senior Scouts Expedition Badge. Prior to the expedition up Mount Rajah, the senior scouts attended a 1 day briefing and a 2 days practice hike up Kutu Hill. This expedition was mainly planned by the Senior Scouts and guided by myself, as the State Senior Scout Commissioner. The Senior Scouts were required to plan out their own meals, pack their own haversack, practice navigation and planning their own transport to the location from Kuala Lumpur city. During the expedition, they were monitored by 10 Rover Scouts who assist to scout the path to ensure the safety of the trail. On day 1 of the expedition, the team hike up to Lata Naning base camp, which is located at 786m above sea level. The next day, the team continue their climb to the peak and return to the base camp before decending the mountain on day 3. During the expedition, the participants managed to learn about team work, enjoy the beauty of nature, camping in the wilderness and time management. The Senior Scouts also managed to retire an old Malaysian flag near the entrance with a new Malaysian flag.
