SDGs In Action: Awareness campaign
The campaign was conducted in order to make scouts aware about why we should talk about mental health, why is it necessary to do so and what are the steps to follow incase we need help.
An awareness campaign titled “SDGs in Action” was conducted, focusing primarily on SDG 3 with the inclusion of SDG 17. Five different scout troops in Dharan city were visited, where information about the importance of good mental health, why it matters, and what steps they can take if they need help were shared. Additionally, descriptive information about GYM and the EU was also shared. Some fun yet impactful activities were also carried out during the session.
Scouts, specially the ones going to schools are knowingly or unknowingly having some sort of mental pressure due to the academic scenarios. It needs to be addressed as they are not comfortable to talk about it openly. The parents, school administration needs to be more concerned about this so that a learning process can be stress free.
