Scouts Standing by the Flood Victims
The core inspiration for this project was the vital duty to stand by the people during the country's difficult times, such as the flood. When natural disasters like floods endanger lives, humanitarian aid is essential. Driven by the Scout motto "Service is the main mantra", the intense desire to help alleviate the suffering of flood victims encouraged me to undertake this large-scale initiative.
First, we packaged essential food, winter clothes, and health supplies into a kit. Then, with the help of the organization's leadership and various benefactors, we worked as volunteers. Through a large-scale operation, we distributed these relief and health items to approximately 3000 families. The relief distribution was meticulously managed, involving transportation, procurement, storage, distribution, and various other tasks.
The biggest lesson I learned from this project is how to work by utilizing the spirit that "Service is the main mantra". It taught me the importance of humanity, patience, mutual trust, and working unitedly. I gained skills in making quick decisions and handling challenging situations during a disaster. Most importantly, I felt the self-satisfaction that comes from standing by the people.
