Scouts Spiritual Retreat Camp

In line with the revitalization of scouting program, organized 3 days Scouts Religious Retreat Camp at Gomphu Kora,Trashi Yangtse starting from 20 - 22 February, 2018 with the financial support from Scout and Culture Education Division, Department of Youth and sports, Ministry of Education, Thimphu. The Main objective of the programme was to provide value education to prepare for their better life and mould the participants to be productive citizen of the country. The camp was attended by (100) scouts from nine secondary schools and (9) scout leaders. The theme for the Scouts Spiritual Retreat Camp was “Together for Positive Change”. The very camp was organized in line with the theme to inculcate the Bhutanese values Thadamtsi Lay Judry(Cause and effect) to accomplish success in the youth. This camp also organized to commemorate the 38th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty, the King, 50 years of Indo-Bhutan Friendship and the 4th National Scouts day. During the camp participants availed opportunities to learn, interact, share and acquire values required in their life. Moreover, three days program provided them space and time to learn and transform their mind set to come forefront to lead and help community and lead them to succeed by actively taking part in various activities and sessions. And also most of the participants had meaningful engagement away from their daily routine of studies. The three days program was delivered to the participants covering varied topics and activities to instill spiritual values and attitude in them. The three days program was facilitated by Lam Tashi Tenzin, the Principal of school for Astrology of Gomphu Kora, Mr. Nima Tshering, the School Guidance Counselor of Baylling Central School and two leadership scouts from Baylling Central School. The programs went on efficiently right from the beginning till the end unimpeded which improved in achieving objectives of the camp. Furthermore, program like this had landed a hand to produce responsible citizen to protect, strengthen, and diligently serve the Tsa Wa Sum to achieve vision of GNH and fulfill the vision and mission of the His Majesty the King.
