Scouts in Service: Supporting the Dzongkhag Schools Sports Meet

I was inspired by the spirit of scouting and the opportunity to serve my school and community during the Dzongkhag Schools Sports Meet. I wanted to contribute behind the scenes by helping with preparations, supporting the players, keeping the surroundings clean, and assisting wherever needed. The project also gave me an opportunity to put the values of teamwork, responsibility, discipline, and service into practice

The project was carried out from 21st to 23rd August 2026 during the DSSM. Scouts supported the school and event organizers through various service activities, including preparing the venue, distributing refreshments to players, collecting waste and maintaining cleanliness, assisting with kitchen and Home Science work, and helping scouts prepare for the aerobics presentation. The activities were completed through teamwork, cooperation, and active participation of the scouts.

Through this project, I learned that service is not always doing somethings big, but about being willing to help wherever needed. I developed better teamwork, communication, responsibility, discipline and time management skills. I also learned the importance of keeping our surrounding clean and supporting others without excepting anything in return. Most importantly, the experience taught me the true value of scouting, leadership and community service.
