Scouts Environmental Action: Cleanups and Planting
One of the biggest environmental problems today is waste. Many people engage in consumptive behavior and litter carelessly, which causes the environment to become polluted. Another problem arises with the increasing rate of deforestation, which has an impact on increasing CO2 which has an impact on global warming. Therefore, initiatives such as environmental cleaning and tree planting need to be started to be cultivated from the smallest scale in society.
This project was carried out by involving 71 scouts and integrated into Subcamp 2 of Pertikawan Nasional 2024. The activity began with cleaning the area around the PPGLHK guesthouse. Next, cleaning was carried out along the road to the planting activity location. Finally, planting activities were carried out together with seeds provided by the committee.
Through this project, I learned to be wiser in using resources, avoid consumptive behavior, and appreciate nature. In addition, I also learned that no matter how small the action we do will have an impact if it is done consistently. By doing this action, I hope to inspire others to care about the environment.
