Scouts of Dungtse CS celebrated World Peace Day
The scouts of Dungtse Central School conducted peace pledges and cleaning campaign. The theme of International Day of Peace 2021 "Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world" inspired the scouts to conduct peace pledges and cleaning campaign.
The total 360 scouts took part in peace pledges and cleaning campaign to celebrate world peace day. They had awareness programme on equitable and sustainable world to have peace for 2 hours. After that, they did cleaning campaign for 3 hours. They cleaned the roadside areas from school gate to Phongmey village about 2 kilometrès.
They have collected the wastes about 50 kilograms. The wastes are of plastics, papers, rubbers, clothes, and iron rods. The place became clean after the work.
The public appreciated the programme. They commented that they would keep their place clean by themselves.
The public took pledges like keeping their place clean and planting trees to have peace in their society.
Through this programme, the scouts learned that it is vital to keep the planet earth free from pollution to have peace. Every individual should take responsibility to recover better for equitable and sustainable world by not polluting the planet earth, planting the trees and taking care of water.
