Scout Week 2020
Due to the lack of exposure and how insignificant us scout in our school is, other people have a wrong impression about scouts. I am more gladly to help organise this activity to help raise awareness about scouts.
This project is held at our school. Before the event, we scouts join forces with girl guides and we both clubs help prepare everything for the event, such as marching performance, camping guides, handy crafts and so on. During the event, we encourage people to play our traditional bamboo dance, making the event more merrier.
Roughly 2000 people benefited from this event including the teachers and us scouts ourselves. The participants all knew better and understand who we are, and they all know the basic knowledge about using scout techniques in the wild. After the event, the whole atmosphere has changed as they viewed us differently now.
I have learned that we can make a makeshift filter and get clean water from home equipment. Moreover, I have learned quick morse code signals such as SOS, YES and NO. I think this event is successful but it needs some improvement such as having scouts to encouraging others to join the event due to scouts are all busy entertaining the current audience.
