SCOUT SHELTER PROJECT- CHAMBOS SCOUTS
Mr. Chatewa from Dzalanyama Village has been living in a dilapidated house for many years. The house has been a death trap, especially during the rainy season. Mr. Chatewa is elderly and not in a position to construct a decent house for himself. After Chambo Scouts discovered this, they chose not to stay silent. Instead, they decided to take constructive action. Seeing their potential to make a difference, they embarked on the Scout Shelter Project.
Chambo Scouts raised funds for the project through the Scout Donation Platform. The Scouts reached out to Mr. Chatewa and began mobilizing resources for the construction. With guidance from an expert, the Scouts started building the house using bricks and cement. The initiative inspired the community, and community members also contributed and gave a hand toward the project.
Young people have what it takes to bring relief to a homeless person.
Chambo Scouts have demonstrated that through collaboration with community members, they can achieve great things together.
However, the project has faced financial challenges due to the current national economic conditions. Rising prices of construction materials have increased the overall project costs and affected the original budget. More support is needed.
