Myanmar Scout Association organizes the 5-day Basic Rescue Training for the first time for Universities' Rovers. (21.5.2018) Yangon University of Education. =========================== A 5-day Basic Rescue training for scouts began on Monday in at Yangon University of Education along with an opening ceremony. This is the very first training conducted by the Yangon Rescue Organization for the scouts in the country with the aim of sharpening their rescue skills and giving better treatment in emergency situation. Chairman, Yangon Rescue Organization, Tun Tun Oo said “The 4 objectives of this training are to promote helping attitude, teamwork skills, practical skills, and to know rescue operation dos and don’ts. Currently, there are 100 teams in our organization and making rescue and many other operations.” Myanmar Scout Association organized this basic rescue training with trainers from Yangon Rescue Organization. Chief Commissioner, Myanmar Scout Association, Dr. Tin Nyo said “‘Be Prepared’ is our motto and it needs training … the Scouts need training. This training is to help the Scouts improve their rescue skills. Such a training like this is essential, I’m sure.” This training by a total of 25 trainers from the Yangon Rescue Organization covers theory and practical sessions. 69 members of the Scouts joined this training. Joint Information Officer, Yangon Rescue Organization, Hein Yarzar said “This training is designed to cover rescue techniques and healthcare services in emergency situation concerning with first aid and CPR. The Scout Association of Myanmar has now been increasing their activities – if the members are skilful, we can save many lives in emergency situation.” One of the Scout leaders, Phyo Thura Win who is actually an organizer and in charge of this training stressed the importance of rescue training. Phyo Thura Win said; “I became a member of the Scouts in 2013. As the Scouts are also to help people, we need to know rescue techniques to save people’s lives. I do believe that I will know more about rescue from this training.” This 5-day training will end on Friday. Plans are underway to open advance training in the near future.
