Scout hiking and camping
To mark the end of scouting activities for the year 2019, the Nachung scouts and community based scouts of Daliphangma Primary school went hiking and camping at Woong-chilu (a beautiful place for camping)
On 26th November, the scouts started their hike from the school reading the trail signs on the way. The three hours hike included descending through the challenging and hardly taken paths and roads. Secret messages were hidden at different points. The last six took a little more than 3 hours but everyone completed the hike successfully.
after reaching the camp site, the scouts prepared for the next day. We had a short tea session followed by presentation of hike reports by the respective sixers. After dinner, we had a camp fire which started with the camp fire song followed by scout and traditional songs of Bhutan. It lasted for more than an hour and ended the day.
The next day started as early as 6 am with BP exercise and few kms of jogging. We washed, had breakfasts and got ready for the flag ceremony. The flag ceremony was graced by the gewog officials.
After that we had a session on first aid facilitated by scout leaders. Later after the tea, we had a competition on backwoods man cooking. The scouts really enjoyed and everyone participated in putting their theoretical ideas into practice. They had in fact mastered the art of cooking in bamboos.
Subsequently we had a lunch break and then a session on sense training-yet another fun-filled activity.
Finally it came to an end with a team building activity and a simple closing ceremony.
The camp ended with prayers for successful conduct of the programme.
