Scout Centre "NOSU"
Hello friends!
I want to tell you one of my stories. Such stories I call stories of success.
Each person in his or her life sets a lot of goals, but unfortunately not all goals are achievable. It can be connected to a lot of factors (laziness, lack of time, loss of interest, insufficient resources, etc.). In my life I understood one very important thing: if your goal is desired, if its realization will benefit not only you, but also the surrounding world and if you move to it at least with small steps, it will surely reach you.
After I visited the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC), I was dreaming of creating a Scout Centre for "NOSU". The goal of this Scout Centre would be to attract and educate new adults, inspire children with Scouting by showing them the versatility of this movement, and also to increase recognition and trust in Scouting from the society, doing every day good deeds to create a better world around.
By a happy coincidence of circumstances and with the support and help of my friends (those adults and experienced Scouts who are always near) I managed to make the first step to my dream - I created a small Scout Centre in the international children center "Artek" (Kyiv city). And even if it's not at all like KISC, but I'm proud of the first results. Several adults and children decided to devote the current period of their lives to Scouting.
I want to talk about one of them.
Vakulenko Yuna, came to Artek in May 2017 and after the presentation of "NOSU" got very interested in Scouting. After that, there was not a single day that Yuna did not take part in workshops, games and challenges. All this helped her not to get lost and not to panic in an extreme situation. And it was like this: during a night quest, the patrol of Yuna got lost in the forest. Yuna did not lose her mind and remembered what she was taught by the instructor of orienteering and identified the sides of the horizon without a compass, which made it possible to read the map correctly according to the terrain and move towards the campsite, so she saved her friends from a long wandering around the night forest. Now Yuna is a member of the Dnipro regional branch of "NOSU", during these three months of her Scout life she already managed to attend several Scout events, one of them was "The First Jamboree of "NOSU".
Set yourself a good goal, move to it and it will be achieved.
