#SaveThe Planet #TreePlanting
Western Cape, SA went through a drought so intense that we were fined for using municipal water.
After an experiment to prove that trees and plant do not only provide the oxygen that we breathe but it also assists in generating rain, it was clear that I needed to make a difference by planting more trees, cleaning up the environment around me and to ensure that others are aware of how easy it is to make a difference.
There have been 2 events that I have participated in so far.
The 1st was with a fellow Springbok candidate that planted trees within the area of Henley on Klip, Meyerton
The 2nd, was recently, when we joined hands with the Rotary Club here in Henley on Klip to plant trees in a Park where ther is a memorial garden for residents here and a cricket oval.
To date we have planted 68 trees
All those who reside here, those students who attend the primary school, those who play and support cricket here including all those who visit Henley benefit from these trees.
I have learnt that it is not that difficult to make a difference. All we need is time and the community. Once you take hands with another the assignments are achievable.
You grow as a person because those who enjoy your attempts are a reflection of the difference that you have made as a person.
