Sanitize for Tomorrow project-2025
The project was inspired by the need to promote personal hygiene in everyday public spaces like tea stalls, where many people gather but basic sanitation is often overlooked. By encouraging simple habits like handwashing, the goal was to prevent the spread of germs and raise awareness on personal cleanliness.
On April 11, 2025, soaps and personal hygiene awareness leaflets were distributed to tea stalls in New Eskaton. The project was initiated by the Former Senior Patrol Leader of BIAM Model School & College Scout Group and executed with support from two Patrol Leaders and a Rover Member from Samatat Open Scout Group. The team engaged with stall owners, explained hygiene practices, and encouraged them to make handwashing accessible to their customers.
We learned that simple hygiene resources like soap can have a powerful impact when paired with education. It also showed us that direct engagement with the community builds trust and helps spread awareness more effectively. Team collaboration and local-level action were key to making this initiative meaningful.
