Rover-ing To Success

Hi everyone.  Hope you had a great weekend.

I felt excited to have a chance to help a group of rover scout from the Kumpulan Latihan Kelanasiswa Malaysia or KLKM (rover group of university students) of the Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) which had a 2 nights camp at the Perlis State Scout Camp near Sungai Batu Pahat here, from 11th January till 13th January 2019.

All of them almost 80 energetic individual of 19 to 23 years old had their chances do some activities such as basic rope class, basic compass class, basic ‘river-length’ estimation class.

Although some of the were a scout during their secondary school, but to some was their first time as a scout and was having fun and excitement of making some creative and inovative gadgets for their campsite and also enjoyed the short hiking activity near our scout camp.

During the last night of the camping, we have a great time making the ‘ketupat pulut’ and also had a great BBQ and scout-night performance.

Before the program ends, we manage to lend some hands, to clear and clean the scout camp and around the Ar-Raudhah Mosque near the camp, making the enviroment a cleaner place for others to reuse the camp and visit the mosque in the near future.

As a rover scouf of the KLKM UniMAP crew, the activities was  compulsory for them in order to acquire credits of the co-curriculum subjects for their under-graduate program at UniMAP.   It was also a good opportunity for them to do some social service and to contribute to the local society.

I personally hope all of them had a great time at the scout camp.  I sure did.

Thanks the coaches: Ms Maslina Mahadi, Ms Norhidayah Hamidon and Mr Hamidon Ahmad for the opportunity.

Till the time we shall meet again, hopefully.

As I always love to say, “Once a scout, always a scout!”

Sharing experiences with local rover scouts and  with theory and practical session hands on.

The program boosted the rover scouts motivation and leadership quality.

I had the chance to share some experiences with rover scouts and will be ready to share again in the near future.
