Revitalizing the sacred place

Revitalizing the sacred place

On 12th November, 2017 Scout leaders, Bartsham Desuup (civil servant trained for the disaster management and emergencies), volunteer staff and Class X Scouts participated in clearing bushes and white washing of local sacred place “Zhabdrung Chakhar” (According to oral history, in the place there is a tree which is believed to grow up from the walking staff of reincarnation of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. The uniqueness of the tree is it bears the fig fruits and the leave of the tree isn’t of fig tree). The site was covered with bushes making it un-noticed by the passer by. Therefore, we decided to do small contribution in term of clearing the bushes and do white washing (to make it visible from far away). After completing our task, we offered butter lamps and returned back home.
