Removal of water hyacinth

The Vikings Rover Crew, did community service by removing water hyacinth from a local lake. This lake the community use for open water swims and other water activities. The water hyacinth is an alien speicies to our country, and spreads like crazy in a body of water. We had removed bardges of water hyacinth from the lake, the hyacinth had to got dispossed of properly once we had fished it out. Another reason for removing the  hyacinth; their mat-forming nature severely impacts biodiversity by preventing the entry of sunlight and oxygen to the bottom waters. Also, their growth prevents the natural flow of water in irrigation channels, removing it prevents this.
