Record Responsibilities & Duties – Transportation Coordinator At 1st ASEAN Rover Moot 2018 Brunei Darussalam

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday morning officiated the 1st ASEAN Rover Moot. The event which coincides with 85 years of scouting in the country and the Centenary celebration of the World Rover Scouts movement, gathered around 350 Rover Scouts between 18 years to 26 years old from ASEAN countries and the Asia Pacific Region. The ceremony was held at the Youth Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan which involves Malaysia, the Republic of Indonesia, the Republic of Singapore, Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and the host nation carries the theme, 'one ASEAN, One Community In Scouting.' 

The Transportation Coordinator and the team for the 1st ASEAN Rover Moot 2018 Brunei Darussalam are responsibilities to give good service and provide to the extreme activities areas such as kayaking (at Serasa Beach), the jungle trekking activity around the Tasek Merimbun area in Tutong District instils courage and confidence in themselves. Meanwhile, service to the tropical forest exploration at Wasai Wong Kadir in the Belait District cultivates a love and awareness on the importance of nature. The Mendaram Besar Longhouse exposed participants to the culture and way of life in the rural areas. To plant 400 trees namely kayu kapur or camphor tree, cajaput, kayu semalar and kayu tolong at the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association tree planting area in Kampung Sungai Mau, Belait District. The participants agree such activities are part and parcel of gaining new knowledge and experience. 

The ASEAN Rover Scouts sees the 6-day gathering in Brunei Darussalam as one that provides experience and life skills in understanding the local community traditions and culture as well as the environment and its surroundings, enhancing self-esteem and realising the importance of sharing in society. The participants have been delegated to the four districts and will participate in the central and district level activities. The six day gathering aims to mould the personality and identity of the youth through community activities, foster and strengthen relations and friendship between the country Rover Scouts and their peers from the ASEAN and Asia Pacific Regions. Its other objectives include sharing knowledge and experience besides interacting directly among the Rover Scouts as well as introducing socio-culture of the countries and Brunei Darussalam as a tourist destination.

The gathering's theme of 'One ASEAN One Community in Scouting' can be portrayed in 4 activity categories towards a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) presented 4 activity categories namely as 1.Exploration & Physical 2.Culture & Arts 3.Community Service and 4.Environment that the gathering with the Out Reach concept conducted simultaneously in the four districts, has provided the participants and local communities to interact directly in various fields in country's community life. The 1st ASEAN Rover Moot in the country has certainly further strengthened the close relations amongst scout members of the ASEAN member nations aside from introducing Brunei Darussalam as a tourism destination.
