REBOOT LST project
COVID-19 has impacted LST's structures to the core , it was hit by the pandemic financially, logistically and, indeed, in terms of the impact on its members’ wellbeing.
The movement faced unprecedented challenges without having an exit plan, as activities were postponed at all grass root levels, therefore in 2021, LST decided to focus on protecting the parts of the movement most affected by the current crisis, including Children, youth, memberships, reinforcing structures and funds, …..
This project targeted scouts living in marginalized areas in Tunisia (inner states, border states and hard to reach areas) where most scout groups were hardly hit by the health crisis. We implicated all 348 scouts groups and 24 region leaders in order to execute the project as impactful as possible. The activities were basically designed to be implemented in all 24 regions. We got great help from the National Board, the high assembly, The divisions and the different departments within the NSO
We had more than 20000 beneficiaries along the project we had 24 family scouting fun days across the country throughout the year is a great achievement. Engaging families in scouting is important because it allows them to share in the benefits of scouting and encourages them to become more involved in their community. These events provided fun and educational experience for families, while learn about the region while participating in activities promoting teamwork, leadership, personal growth.
We learned that the scouts in outskirt areas are very difficult to reach from the outside therefore we worked with the scout groups and the region leadership from the inside to approach them via family fun days events, workshops with the division leaders and urging them to work on their growth strategy that includes schools, high schools that lack any type of activities. Pushing for partnerships with civil society org is also helpful to improve work of the scouts or reaching out to more youth
