Ramadan Gifts

In the blessed month of Ramadan, most of us, Alhamdulillah, have plenty to have for Suhoor and Iftar. but there are many in our surroundings who do not have this privilege. A big population of The Gambia lives in poverty, the need for this project is to make sure that the underprivileged and poor people are not left behind in this blessed month of Ramadan and break the fast after fasting the whole day like common people.
To put a smile on the faces of the poor, End hunger, achieve food security, and improve nutrition in the month of Ramadan. The implementation tea collected data of the needy families from two regions namely: the Central River Region and the North bank Region. This was followed by the buying and packaging of the products and finally distributed to the beneficiaries. the few who could not make it on time due to the distance and mobility challenges were supported to get their food packages home.
50 extended families benefitted from the project in different communities and regions. most of the beneficiaries are scout families living in extremely poor conditions. This project has demonstrated the kindness scouts have towards the poor, needy and the weak and that their family members are part of an association that is putting smiles on the faces of many. These families will have food on the table for at least a week.
We have been able to gather real data on how must of the beneficiaries live in these communities and what their needs are on a daily basis. as a result of that, we will next time focus on materials that are most needed or challenging for them to access on a daily bases than the ones they can manage daily.
