Public awareness Project work on how to segregate garbage and dispose waste World Cities Day in Colombo 31 October 2016 9AM – 3PM An awareness campaign on proper waste disposal was launched in Colombo Fort area to mark the World Cities Day. Megapolis and Western Development Minister Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka led the campaign. Minister Faizer Mustapha, Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna, the Police, Security Forces, scouts of Colombo District branch together with 17th Colombo St Andrew’s (Netherlee) Scout Group and officers of the Civil Security Department, Scouts and state officials participated. The programme was aimed at making the public aware on how to segregate garbage and dispose waste in a systematic manner and to keep the ‘City’clean.
