PROJECT: PAG-ASA (PSNHS Agri Garden)

After the Provincial Digital Scout Jamboree held on March 17-19, 2022, which was initiated by the Pampanga Council. The inspired scouts of the Pulung Santol National High School, Porac, Pampanga would like to start advocacy supporting the BSP on Urban Agriculture Project, Tide Turner Plastic Challenge, and Messenger of Peace. This said project aims to practice UAP within the school community and share our practice with its stakeholders as we convert landfills and other spaces into green garden
The project was located within the vicinity of Pulung Santol National High School, Porac, Pampanga. We informed our school principal about our intentions to support UAP, TTPC and MOP. He then gave his warm support and challenged us if we can convert our school landfill area into a productive space.
There are only a few scout participants in said project, around 40 male and female scouts contributed to the said movement. Clearing the space is the hardest task of all, but with the scouts' active participation there is no single pebble turned during the clearing period. We started to organize limited f2f seminar workshops and germinated seeds. Roughly, around 2000 individuals will benefit from this project. Harvested crops will be used in feeding programs and alike.
From now and then, we learned a lot as we go through the process of execution and implementation. With the support of the school and barangay officials, as well as different LGUs, scouts gained the knowledge and skills needed to support this project but more than that, they gain self-confidence, self-reliance, and most of all - BROTHERHOOD beyond scouting. We are still learning and improving as participate in different Webinars and Seminars
