Project Irene was an idea developed after walking both sides of the line and seeing things from a variety of perspectives. It is aimed at engaging identified at risk indigenous and non indiginous youth of the Geelong area by finding large youth events as a creative outlet to develop all skills of life. The team through this project is aiming to achieve a number of goals Youth participation in established youth organisations increase from exposure to youth based activities The ability to expand past the immediate community to a wider range of youth Ability to adapt the current scouting program to suit that of the needs of indigenous communities culture and youth building needs Although identified as a big task it is something all members of the team are passionate about, and are striving to achieve the many goals and future goals that will develop as an outcome the program.
