President’s Scout Dental-clinic Project

The dental hygiene of school children is vitally necessary in order to prevent the oral diseases & oral problems which can be happened in this age. We can provide dental health counselling, oral health guidance & required dental treatments directly to the students & teachers through this kind of community projects. Through this kind of a project, students will get an opportunity to practice preventing, diagnosing, & treating oral disease & educate on oral health education in a supportive setting.

It was January 4th, 2022, the day of my president scout community service project, and I chose to conduct a dental clinic for students and teachers at Thaninayagam Tamil Vidyalaya. I did this project with the help of 8 Air Scouts, 4 Air Scout Masters, 2 dental surgeons from SLAF, 9 male & female nurses from SLAF. During the dental check-up, air force dental professionals checked their overall oral health and treated for any trouble areas.

There are 130 students and 15 teachers presently in this primary school. Most of the children who are studying in this school are coming from poor families in this area. The dental hygiene of school children is vitally necessary in order to prevent the oral diseases and other oral problems which can be happened in this age. We provided dental health counseling, oral health guidance, and required dental treatments directly to the students and teachers through this community project.

I learned how to take responsibility when doing something, how to control others as a good leader, and when a problem occurs, think wisely and give a wise solution. I also got experience through this project how to obtain the necessary permission from the appropriate parties when carrying out this type of community service project.
