Pre-Skipper Basic Course - "Equipping potential skippers on how to run their scout ship"

188 skippers, skipper-in-training, potential skippers and commissioners took part in the first ever Pre-Skipper Basic Course that was organised by the National Sea Scout Secretariat and held using Zoom. 8 trainers, including the National Sea Scout Commissioner as course director, helped to guide the participants through multiple different topics from the sea scouting program for scouts, senior scouts and rovers to the history of sea scout worldwide and managing a sea scout troop. There was even a session on progressions for adults in scouting and how to practice continuous personal development.

After a very fruitful day long session, participants had a week to complete an assessment based on the 8 topics that were shared and the results were announced during the closing ceremony on 1st May 2021, officiated by the National Training Commissioner, Dr Ekbert Yong along with an open session to discuss other problems and share practical information among the participants and introduce Safe From Harm.
