We had been informed by the media, about the unexpected earthquake in Nepal on April 25th, that had affected many young children. As we saw many people and organizations all around the world, doing their part in helping those in need, we also wanted to be a part in this great endeavor. We have decided to inform all of the families in our educational community and begin to raise donations through promoting and raising awareness about this situation. The collected donations has been sent to Nepal through UNESCO, as our school is a UNESCO associated school. The students designed and produced pickets and donation boxes. After the promotion period, 11 volunteer students executed the plan in promoting and raising donations every morning before school started as students arrived for an entire week. As days went by, more students and teachers showed interest, and we found our efforts to be worthwhile. As we continued this project, we felt great joy in knowing that not only the volunteering students, but our school as a whole, were able to be a part of something great and our fellow students and teachers were a big help in encouraging us.
