Pramanda Peace Building Project

We recognized that many conflicts in schools and communities often arise from misunderstanding and a lack of communication skills, particularly during this stage of life, which plays an important role in shaping future life paths. When students are given the opportunity to share their backgrounds and perspectives, the dialogue becomes more meaningful and fosters mutual respect across differences.
A total of 44 Grade 12 students participated in activities designed to strengthen their understanding of empathy. Throughout the one-day training, students learned to better understand themselves and others, as well as to listen to different perspectives. True peace begins when every voice is heard.
We learned that when students practice listening with empathy, it opens the door to understanding. Many young participants realized for the first time that listening without judgment is as important as speaking their minds.
