Poverty: The Greatest Enemy of Human's Happiness

Poverty is about not having enough money to meet basic needs including food, clothing and shelter.  However, poverty is more, much more than just not having enough money.

Poverty is one of the biggest problem of our society. Here in the Philippines 21.6% (2015) of our country is living under the poverty line. You can see a lot of children in the streets picking up trashes, playing with dust, stamping their feet on a mud, wearing dirty clothes. Families that are suffering from hunger is also relevant. Living under the bridge and beside the trash dump. You can actually see garbage that formed a mountain. It's actually a very sad reality but we need to accept it,but just accepting it is not enough doing something about it is a lot better.

The main victims of this problem are the children of our society. They are the hope of our country but how can they become a hope if they stay living in this kind of society. What's ironic is you can still see the smiles of those kids, but that smile doesn't mean that they're just happy it means deeper, facing the reality, accepting the fact and having high hopes.

What can you do?

First thing to do is of course educating yourself, you should have a deep understanding in this kind of situation.Help an individual not just financially but also emotionally. Volunteer, there are a lot of association who's mission is to help those who are in need if you are willing you can work with them. Donating clothes, food etc. A small thing can make a big difference.

YOU CAN BE A LIGHT TO OTHER PEOPLE'S DARKNESS. START MOVING. DO SOMETHING.
