PLASTIC POLLUTION CAMPAIGN - Week 3

ON PROCESS TO ONE - EcoBrick Ever since I started my campaign to fight plastic pollution, EcoBrick is the best and sustainable intervention I can think of so far. According to cleanseas.org, out of 8.3 billion tons of plastics produced, only 9% of plastic waste was recycled. From the million tons of plastics produced every year, 40% of it came from the packaging - most of it is single-use plastics, making it inevitable. Millions of single-use plastics are already floating in the five major oceans of the world, threatening marine life and disrupting the food chain. EcoBrick is one of the best ways to meddle this situation. The Plastic Solution, under The Circle Hostel, spearheaded the initiative of promoting EcoBricks. These are PET bottles filled with dry plastics that can be used for furniture and even large-scale buildings. I adopt this initiative to manage my single-use plastics properly. Minutes of stuffing plastics every day have been a part of my daily routine since the Tide Turners Plastic Challenge began. After making several EcoBricks, I will ship it to the drop-off points provided by The Plastic Solution. I believe this campaign would encourage everyone to do the same and help us turn the tide! Together, let's make a sustainable and a Healthy Planet. #EarthTribe #EarthTribePh #TideTurners #TideTurnersPh #Scout4SDGs #SDG6 #SDG13 #SDG14 #SDG15
